Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup Mina's Purely Divine All Purpose Baking Mix
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup shortening (we use Spectrum Shortening)
  • ¾ cups milk, coconut or almond milk

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 450ºF.
  2. Combine Mina's All Purpose Mix, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add shortening and cut in with pastry blender or hands until it resembles crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk and mix until it is completely incorporated.
  5. Scrape mixture onto a piece of parchment paper. With damp or oiled hands pat into a circle ½ inch thick.
  6. Cut out with an oiled 2½ inch biscuit or cookie cutter.
  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet with edges not touching.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Makes 12 biscuits.
